Welsh Language Development Officer

The Wales Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs (YFC) is one of the largest bilingual rural youth organisations operating in Wales. The organisation provides opportunities for the personal development of its members through its competitions, youth work, international and rural affairs programmes.

We are a democratic membership organisation of just under 6,000 members, working with young people between the ages of 10 and 26 years of age.

Wales YFC is seeking an experienced officer who has the skills to develop the use of the Welsh language within the organisation.

- You will be responsible for the development of the Welsh language, in line with the work of the Welsh Government and the wishes of the Federation.

- You will be well organised and motivated to work with the young people of rural Wales.

- You will be able to manage the changing priorities of a membership organisation and have a flexible approach with an energetic Can-Do attitude.

- You will have excellent writing skills.

- You will have an interest in rural communities and young people living and working in them.

- You will be a skilled and creative user of IT systems.

- You will be a public face of the organisation and need to be an exceptional communicator, with excellent interpersonal skills.

As a youth organisation Wales YFC is committed to the safeguarding of children and young people. All posts are subject to Safe Recruiting Procedures, which may include a DBS check at enhanced level.

Working with the YFC means that you are often asked to travel and meet people from all walks of life. You may be required to work some weekends etc., however we have a flexible working policy which could mean that sometimes you could work from home, or not work some time during the week, subject to agreement and resources etc.

Working with the YFC gives you the opportunity to really make a difference to the youth of Rural Wales and we look forward to hearing from you.
